This Dramatic Portrait
In the battle between spirituality and money, the victory is clear for greed in Michael Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top true story about the fallen TV preacher and her felon spouse. Garfield portrays the greedy Jim, who states at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. Both individuals set about monetising the nation's Christian beliefs. It's a riot of poor styling, excessive cosmetics and hypocrisy, yet Jessica Chastain succeeds to show the real-life figure as a sympathetic figure. Next Tuesday, late night, the Film4 channel
